If the hospital/doctors haven't suggested it, I don't think it is an option for your case. I think the situation being referenced is a child with autism, solely. Other conditions would affect the end result and so should be treated as such.

You do know there are 'petit mal' and 'grand mal' seizures I assume? Sometimes it is nothing more than your son closing his eyes for a prolonged period while he's up and awake. It can be a sudden emotional outburst without having had any outside stimuli or an observable reason for him to react, like he's sitting in the car and gets angry without anyone saying anything to him or at all.

In my experience, I've found that there is something else going on too. The thought processes of an autistic person are differently wired. Of course, my experience is with non-verbal autistics. Some of them have cerebral palsy among other conditions and others are solely afflicted with autism which means they can find employment in a best case scenario. I can't ask them questions (they won't respond verbally, only with gestures or their emotions. It isn't an accurate enough gauge for me to base my answers on) so I observe a lot.

I know what it's like to live with someone who is autistic, and has cerebral palsy. I've endured that for twenty years of my life so I think I know what I'm talking about. It is very stressful but it has made me who I am today.

Check chilel.com, find a way to teach your kids Level 1 Wall Squats, get the kid up to 100 or 200 a day, and watch his head clear up. They must be done right. See if you can find a teacher.

Uhm....NEW...Grig is a bit older than most of us...and he has had his own trials and tribulations with health. He leans towards the "non medical", natural healing. He wasn't trying to poke fun or make jokes. He was making an honest suggestion.
THC ( tetrahydrocannabinol) is not "pot", but the psychoactive constituent of cannabis. It's used in quite a few different treatments and/or studies right now, such as cancer, glaucoma, MS, arthritis, asthma, Parkinson's, seizure disorders,....

please act like nonethings diffrent with him....I had epilsy as a child and grandma grandpa on dads side saw me diffrently.....they pasted and was not close to them......ps got epilsy as a *SPAM**SPAM**SPAM**SPAM**SPAM**SPAM**SPAM* so I did grow out of it.....if born with it you have it for life.......

Do not be worried about updating us on your nipper's health, and I hope it all goes your way. With double blind tests neither the doctors running the local tests nor you will know if he is given placebo or drug as that knowledge could and does affect the treatment, if the doc and you do not know what he is taking then you will monitor the test regime diligently, if you know he is on a placebo you may become lax.

I'm sure you are right that it's better not to know.

The drug, if that's what we're given, works specifically on behaviors. I'm sure it will be noticeable whether it's "working" or not. Luckily he doesn't have severe behaviors like aggression, violent, self injurous, etc.

Even with a double blind system the patient and carer can and sometimes do notice beneficial changes when not on the experimental drug, this is known as "The Placebo Effect". Also remember that it is experimental and may not work or might have negative side effects. But I am sending you as many positive vibes that I can manage.
