But Trump has been president for the past six months. And why did he cancel negotiations to discuss release of US prisoners? And if Trump is doing such a great job why didn't he bring home 4 US citizens instead of just one dead one.

 

You can bet I am laughing my ass off at the PR hacks and their many socks who were bragging about Trump hitting 50% in a Rasmussen poll because he is down 6 points today. Republican support for Trump bas also dropped 11 points. And the latest CBS poll has Trump at 36% approval rating.

I was unable to find any negotiation attempts during Obamas 12 months as POTUS. Trump began negotiating his release in May, and he was released in June. Of the 3 remaining detainees, one was convicted of espionage. The other two I did not look up. Trump at lists made an attempt. Unfortunately it was too late. I am unable to find anything that Obama even tried, in which case he would still have been alive.

 

No shit it was too late. He was already dead. But Trump had his chance and he fucked up.

 

so let's blame Trump for Obama sitting on his ass for a year, while this kid was locked away. Makes perfect sense to me and his parents.

 

Some people will blame Trump for everything.
It doesn't matter that Obama was president when the kid was arrested and put in prison.
They do not care that Obama let the kid set in prison. They do not care that Obama did nothing while the kid was slowly killed.
They will completely block out that it was the Trump administration that finally got the kid out of prison.
Many probably do not even know it as the news media they favor hasn't told them as yet, and never will.

UN boss warns Trump that America will be replaced if it withdraws from the world - as he announces plans to lobby the US for more funding

• Called proposed cuts to US funding of UN operations potentially disastrous
• Plans to visit Washington next week to ask Congress to boost UN funding
• Also calls on America to accept more refugees and asylum seekers

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned the Trump administration on Tuesday that if the United States disengages from the international community it will be replaced - saying that won't be good for America or for the world.

At his first press conference since taking the reins of the United Nations on January 1, Guterres also said that proposed cuts in US funding for the UN would be disastrous and create 'an unsolvable problem to the management of the UN'.

The United States is the biggest contributor to the United Nations, paying 22 percent of the $5.4billion core budget and 28.5 percent of the $7.9billion peacekeeping budget.

Guterres will travel to Washington next week to make the case directly to US members of Congress who have the power to amend President Donald Trump's budget proposals.

Last month, the US State Department laid out plans to slash Washington's budget for diplomacy and foreign aid by more than 30 percent, including a dramatic cut of 60 percent to US funding for peacekeeping missions.

Asked about a new world order sparked by the Trump administration's actions, Guterres said: 'I believe that if the United States disengages in relation of many aspects of foreign policy and many of international relations, it will be unavoidable that other actors will occupy that space.'

'And I don't think this is good for the United States and I don't think this is good for the world,' he said.

The UN chief stressed that he is not afraid to stand up to President Donald Trump, citing his vocal opposition to the US leader's withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.
